WebJul 24, 2010 · We are repairing more T43's with unsoldered SB than GPU's, and this also applies to any T4xp Thinkpad which is fitted with a metal topped GPU. Fortunately it's not difficult to reflow / reball, but we are coming across a major problem where the occasional SB chip is bonded to the motherboard with clear epoxy compared to red/orange/black dots. WebReleased in 2005, the T43 was the last official ThinkPad before Lenovo was brought into the picture. This meant that the T43 was the last ThinkPad to have preferable 'awkward' features such as: omitting the Windows keys, native OS/2 support & drivers, a characteristic colour scheme, the 'Access IBM' button, IBM BIOS splash screen etc.

I have 1.5 GB Ram and that seems much better than the 0.5GB supplied. People have said to me that they favour RAM over GHz in order to increase performance.
